Financial and Customer Data Analyst
Reports to the Bank’s Controller and performs a variety of financial reporting, data analysis, and accounting activities. The position will require using multiple solutions to access, manipulate, and output data into actionable information. The selected individual will prepare a variety of reports, provide detailed analysis, and periodically make relevant recommendations. The position will also require a working knowledge and adherence to accounting policies and procedures of the Bank as well as applicable regulations. The individual will have a general knowledge of current banking and accounting principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and Maintain familiarity with Grand Banks’ Data Warehouse, associated variables and meanings.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including but not limited to the Call Report. Become Vantage Risk and Budgeting Manager superuser.
- Prepare and analyze financial or customer behavior information, providing recommendations about areas of concern and potential improvement to fellow associates.
- Coordinate finance and data driven projects assist with projects in other departments as needed.
- Monitor Grand Banks’ financial performance against Asset Liability Management Policy and various related regulatory pronouncements.
- Become familiar with and participate in development of Economic Value at Risk and Earnings at Risk models.
- Interact with vendors, regulators, internal validators and auditors, and internal users regarding model development and documentation.
- Initiate, collect, compile, and integrates business data to inform forecasts and budgets.
- Execute variance analyses and provide understanding of operational and financial performance.
- Supports Finance team in producing automated, actionable reporting to various constituents.
- Supports development of business cases using appropriate financial indices and coordination with other stakeholders.
- Ensuring data integrity through various quality assurance methods.
- Produce portfolio, behavioral, and financial analysis with highest level of data integrity in a time sensitive fashion.
- Conduct expense analysis related to employee salaries, recruiting costs, and turnover
- Perform quarter-end reconciliations of assigned accounts in preparation for call reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned by Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical, logic, and math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in business writing and business reporting including charts and graphs
- Good verbal and written communication skills, in addition to good listening skills
- A self-starter with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related studies.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and use new software and programs.
- Asset/Liability Management experience.
- Experience in Power BI and Python
